MU5 Patch Released!
(and September Dev Transmission)
Hi everyone, thank-you for the feedback on the recent launch of Major Update 5. We’ve just released a patch with some general improvements and fixes. The version number is 0.91.29842.
If you missed what was added in Major Update 5, click on the image below to be taken to the post with all the details:
Here’s what is new in this update:
Gamepad-related:
- Fixed an issue where using gamepad was negatively impacting the framerate
- Added “full tilt” to the gamepad, which is used when the stick is pushed a certain amount.
- Removed the look acceleration and zoomed look acceleration settings are these were made redundant by the full tilt changes.
- Added vertical magnetism to aim assist (was only doing horizontal previously)
- Added support so that the correct button images are automatically displayed if you’re using a PS5 gamepad.
- Fixed some issues where the gamepad was displaying the wrong button images if you’d set the input display to PS or Steam Deck.
Prologue-related:
- Fixed an issue in the Prologue where revives were increasing in cost
- Fixed an issue where the opening cutscene would incorrectly play a moment of level music
- Made the first two battles in Operation Pilot Light use simpler breach points
- Fixed an issue in the Prologue where if the player wins a mission but then dies with no lives left they weren’t offered the chance to retry
- Fixed an issue where you would hear “SENTRY EXPIRED” if you died before you got the suit in the Prologue
- Shrunk the opening crawl text size in the intro cutscene
- Fixed a bug where you could see the Vortex Glove and Armour on the Sentry in the Listening Post outro cutscene
- Fixed an issue where the Disruptor Spire VFX could break
- Lots of little Prologue Listening Post polish fixes
Text-based changes:
- Adjusted interaction text so it is in a verb-noun format, i.e. “OPEN DOOR” etc.
- Revised text in the mission briefing/completion menus so they’re more consistent. Also did a pass on the text for the pieces of equipment you receive during The Listening Post.
- Adjusted the usage of the term SENTRY. The capitalised version is used when referencing the game. In other instances we now use “Sentry”.
- Renamed “Initiate” to “Anchorage”, as Initiate felt too much like a difficulty and didn’t match the naming conventions of the other campaigns
Miscellaneous fixes/improvements:
- Fixed an issue where keyboard rebindings were showing US keyboard layout keys on any non-US keyboard
- Added in-text glyphs for mouse and keyboard
- Optimisations to Conduit
- Prevented placing deployables on the desks in Central Processing
- Added tooltips to loadout specialities that provide more information on what types of equipment they’ll get
- Added a new tag called “CHAIN”. This is added to the mastered pieces of equipment with the SHOCK tag, and the High Voltage tech is now using “CHAIN” so that it now communicates when it should work.
